Our Story
As a parent of a child with a disability, it became clear that my son’s perseverance kept me strong. My strength to care for him was drawn from his strength and passion for quality of life. Upon my son’s passing, I remembered his determination to do the things that gave him joy and independence. My son, who was nonverbal, had cerebral palsy and developmental delay; loved fashion. I provided him with opportunities to make decisions about what he wore and everything else; he was capable. I wanted to create something that could make people with disabilities lives better. I wanted to bring awareness to his perseverance to advocate for his quality of life and others. Capability Apparel LLC, based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is dedicated to promoting the abilities of people with disabilities through unique fashion items like t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, mugs, and tote bags. With a mission to support this cause, we donate 50% of our proceeds to help create a more meaningful life for people with disabilities and increase awareness. ​
